A couple of our readers have asked for a review on Mahindra Xylo. And that made us work on this big one a bit faster. Honestly we had pushed the review to a later date as we were waiting for more information on the brand new car. Amidst of these facts Xylo appears to be a real head turner.
Xylo (read as Zy-Lo) is the brand new MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) from Mahindra. This fresh entrant is expected to be a big competitor for Toyota Innova which has almost gulped this segment market. Like the predecessor Mahindra Scorpio, Xylo is expected to wrap in a bunch of exclusive features. So what makes Xylo named the best successor for Scorpio?
Xylo started its journey with the code name Ingenio. It is a truly in-house production of M&M team. The manufactures expect this customer centric innovation to turn out to be an iconic brand just like Scorpio. Xylo inherits all the good features of Scorpio in a bettered fashion.
The M&M team has retained the trademark grille face on xylo too. Its dashing windscreen and broad headlamps demands more attention from the car lovers. The pictures so far available say that Xylo resembles its competitor Innova from various angles. Hence the good look is guaranteed!

Now peeping inside, the airy cabin makes the trip comfortable for passengers. Top end version features leather seats, fog lamps, audio system and tubeless tires. This 8-seater wraps up a 2.5 liter CRDe engine that could be supplied by the Scorpio. The petrol variant may sourced from its Logan partner Renault.

The Xylo is what I would term as a true Value-for-money investment for someone who who wants everything in a car and for a reasonable price….from comfort features like flat bed seats & tilt-steering to high-tech things like digital drive assist the anti-theft system, which stops the engine if a wrong key is used!

good car & good company
I always knew Xylo is going to be a success story because scorpio is the premium SUV in India and is the beloved SUV of Indians.
Ok these are more details abt the xylo and these are pics which i just saw on facebook and these are great and these are of Mashindra Xylo Interiors and i thought i should share it with all of the others possible.
The Mahindra Xylo a new vehicle from Mahindra which is placed in MUV segment of cars and is destined to pip the innova in the markets in the coming days. Mahindra has released this vehicle in four variants and sure in this time when people are looking for car which are of these kind may sure want to go for the Xylo.
Exteriors: First the xylo does not have an attractive look and doesn’t look rich. The Xylo has looks of a box and has a tall stance . The front side looks very decent and the grill on the front side gives it a sporty look. The headlights are add-ons to its appeal. The alloys along with the Bridgestone Dueler A/T give it a tough look but the rear is somewhat typical with a box appearance and is not really impressive.
Interiors:. When one gets inside the vehicle the view of the road is astonishing and the seating is very much comfortable. The lumbar support equipped in for the first and second row seats. Cabin space is pretty decent , and when entered there is more than enough room. The Xylo is equipped with an audio system with provisions for SD card, USB, Aux In. The Xylo from the inside is actually luxurious and smooth and gives one a royal feeling
Built/engine performance : The Xylo is a strongly built car. There are no traces of any rattling sounds in the car .
– Once the M Eagle engine is cranked, it starts with a reassuring roar. The engine is pretty silent and is efficient too. The acceleration is smooth and there is no lack of power. There is a multi information display on the dash which shows the digital speed of the car, along with the gear in which the car is running, which is pretty impressive. It also has a digital compass and gives information on relative humidity, inside and outside temperatures, average, how many km till you run out of gas, etc etc. The Intellipark Reverse Assist works very well .The steering is light and so turns very easily. So from the inside of an Xylo the person gets a royal luxurious feel.
The engine is pretty fast. Engine response is very good. Its the in-gear acceleration where the Xylo shines. Turbo lag is quite minimal and the car easily nudges 100kmph whenever needed. However the best part of this car is the fuel efficiency. The car consistently gave us 11kmpl even under hard driving which is fantastic for a vehicle of such a size.
Conclusion – The Xylo may not have the best in class tag but the pricing and the features are the best value for your money in the segment. the Top E8 Version being more than 2 lakhs cheaper than the top end Innova makes the Xylo extremely value for money. In terms of the comfort of the ones inside of it the Xylo is really comfortable and luxurious and gives the travel a royal touch to it. Mahindra has done a fantastic job on the Xylo, no wonder the car has beaten Innova in sales.
Xylo no doubt better than innova in every segment. Its looks, performance, pricing and fuel efficiency, all are far better from Innova or other cars in MUV/SUV segment.
I love this car as ride quality is one of the best than any other car even better than Innova and its own scorpio.
