Maruti/Suzuki SX4 – The Man Among The Girls

Maruti Udyog’s latest product “SX4″ is advertised as the masculine car among other cars on Indian roads. With sleek modern looks and awesome features, this car is said to be the most spacious in “A3″ segment.

SX4 – What is in a name?

It is quite surprising to see a name like SX4. Here is what Maruti says. S stands for “Sporty” and X stands for “Relax” and the final 4 stands for “four season drive”. Among the competing sedan cars; Honda City, Ford Fiesta and Hyundai Verna, “SX4″ definitely stands out as a male name. (Perhaps that is another reason Maruti calls SX4 as the man amongst other Cars )

SX4 is built upon extended version of Suzuki Swift platform. It was originally designed as a hatchback version and was modified for Indian market. The original design was done by Italdesign and is still sold as Fiat Sedici & SX4 in Europe.

The Indian SX4 carries almost all of the features from the European version. The SX4 sedan has been benchmarked with European design standard specifications and since most of them are unaltered, Indian buyers can feel the premiumness of European cars in SX4.

SX4’s revolutionary design, with muscular body, contoured bonnet, wrap around head lamps and aesthetically designed tail lamps coupled with excellent paint job, brings instant attention of every car lover.

The dimensions are also carefully chosen so that it can directly compete with other cars in A3 segment. From the design specifications, its quite clear that only the upcoming Mahindra Logan will be more spacious than SX4.

The premium version (ZXi) comes with even more features including :
