We have 64% growth, says GM
GM reports a hike of 64% in car sales during September this year. Against last September’s 3506 domestic car unit sale, this year the figures have crossed 5751 units for the same month.
This sales figure is formed by the sale of 1501 units of Chevy spark, 1599 units of hatchback and sedan Chevrolet Aveo, 1953 units of Chevrolet Tavera and 738 Optra sedans. The half yearly sales from April-September 2007 stood at 30,823 units which records an increase of 60% as compared to last year. GM India has its production site in the western state of Gujarat.
Praising the company performance GM India VP, P. Balendran said:”The year 2007 so far has been a remarkable and wonderful period with all the recently launched cars receiving rave reviews from the market and growing acceptance from customers.”
As a promise to the Indian customers he added, “With the consistent surge in monthly sales, our key focus remains to address the changing customer needs while providing them world class products and best in class service”.
